This weekend, on 3 and 4 October, a new edition of the Oncotrail took place. This charity race, organised by the Fundació Oncolliga Girona, crosses the Baix Empordà with the aim of raising funds to improve the quality of life of people living with cancer.
Once again, Ceigrup Finques Riart has supported this initiative as a sponsor of the Forassenyats team, reaffirming our commitment to a cause that we support year after year.
This year’s edition, however, was marked by exceptional weather conditions. As the situation worsened and the flood risk alert was raised, the organisers were forced to neutralise the race from 1:30 p.m. onwards to ensure the safety of all participants. The teams were transferred to Vall-llobrega and, from there, four members of each team resumed the route on foot towards Palafrugell.
The final stretch created one of the most moving and symbolic moments of the edition: hundreds of participants reached the finish line together, sharing the same finish and highlighting the spirit of unity and solidarity that defines the Oncotrail.
